Royal T Shipyards Returns to Breakbulk Europe

11 juni 2026

Royal T Shipyards is pleased to announce its participation in Breakbulk Europe 2026, taking place from 16–18 June 2026 at Rotterdam Ahoy. Visitors are welcome to meet the team at Hall 2, Stand H74, where the Dutch shipbuilder will showcase its latest vessel concepts, ongoing projects, and innovative solutions for the breakbulk and project cargo industry.

As one of the Netherlands’ leading specialist shipbuilders, Royal T Shipyards continues to develop and build efficient, future-ready vessels that combine operational performance, sustainability, and commercial viability. With more than a century of shipbuilding experience and a strong focus on in-house design and engineering, the yard offers both proven vessel series and tailor-made solutions for shipowners operating in demanding
markets.

Proven Vessel Series for Modern Cargo Transport

At Breakbulk Europe 2026, Royal T Shipyards will highlight several successful vessel concepts that have been developed and refined over recent years.

Among these are the LABRAX series, diesel-electric multipurpose cargo vessels designed to maximize cargo intake while minimizing fuel consumption and emissions. The series has already proven itself in commercial operation and demonstrates how modern propulsion technology and smart hull design can significantly reduce operating costs.

The shipyard will also present its SALMO and GADUS series, designed for operators seeking efficient and sustainable solutions for short-sea and regional cargo transport. These vessels combine robust cargo capabilities with low fuel consumption, future-fuel readiness, and advanced automation systems.

Sustainable Shipping Through Practical Innovation

Royal T Shipyards believes that the transition towards cleaner shipping requires practical and commercially viable solutions. Therefore, the company continues to invest in dieselelectric propulsion, alternative fuel readiness, battery integration, and digital vessel management systems.

Recent developments include fully electric ready vessel concepts, as well as advanced vessel monitoring technologies that help owners optimize performance, reduce emissions, and improve operational efficiency throughout a vessel’s lifecycle.

"Our focus is on delivering solutions that work in practice," says Thecla Bodewes, CEO of Royal T Shipyards. "Shipowners need vessels that are efficient, reliable, and prepared for future regulations. By building on proven concepts and continuously improving them, we help our clients make sustainable investments with confidence."

From Multipurpose Cargo Vessels to Specialised Ships

In addition to its series-built cargo vessels, Royal T Shipyards is actively involved in the development and construction of specialised vessels, including dredgers, research vessels, inland pushers, cement carriers, and other purpose-built maritime solutions.

This combination of standardisation and flexibility enables the yard to deliver vessels that meet specific operational requirements while benefiting from proven engineering and construction methodologies.
