Axel Johnson International’s business group Driveline Solutions has acquired Total Hydraulics Group B.V., a Dutch provider of hydraulic solutions. The acquisition marks Driveline Solutions’ first entry into the Netherlands, establishing a new geographic presence while strengthening its hydraulic platform.

Total Hydraulics Group, consisting of Total Hydraulics B.V., Total Hydraulics Maintenance Solutions B.V., and GHS Fluid Power B.V., is a well-established distributor of hydraulic components and provider of advanced system design, assembly, and service. The company serves a diversified customer base across maritime & offshore, agriculture, and heavy industry.

With strong supplier relationships, and a large offering spanning components, engineering, installation services and maintenance services, the company complements and enhances Driveline Solutions’ existing capabilities within hydraulics. The acquisition creates further opportunities for collaboration across the business group within areas such as sourcing, product development, and technical knowledge, strengthening Driveline Solutions’ position in the hydraulic segment.

“Total Hydraulics Group is a high-quality business with strong technical expertise and a solid market position. The company complements and strengthens our existing hydraulic offering, with clear overlaps in suppliers, products, and applications. We also share values and approach to how we do business,” says Jan Brattberg, Managing Director, Driveline Solutions.

Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Heerhugowaard, the Netherlands, Total Hydraulics Group employs 41 people across two locations. The company has had a strong growth journey in recent years, driven by both increasing commitments with existing customers, and a growing customer base, thanks to its ability to provide complex technical solutions.

“Joining Driveline Solutions marks an exciting next step in our journey. We see strong opportunities to continue our growth journey and further develop our business together with a long-term, value-driven owner with deep industrial expertise,” say Jelmer Hartenberg and Luc van der Geest, co-owners of Total Hydraulics Group.

Jelmer Hartenberg and Luc van der Geest will both remain shareholders in the company.
